International Indigenous Council

Honolulu, Hawai'i (International Event)

Description:
Healing Our Spirit Worldwide is an Indigenous cultural celebration that will focus on successes, wise practices and common issues in health, healing and addictions within Indigenous communities. The Sixth Gathering will radiate the wisdom of our kupuna (elders) and the aloha of the land and the Indigenous people of ka pae ‘aina Hawai‘i.

The 2010 gathering in Honolulu will continue the tradition of HOSW—to strengthen and heal Indigenous families and communities worldwide.

Financial Assistance to attend: ALAC in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the International Indigenous Council for Healing our Spirit Worldwide (HOSW) 2010 are pleased to be able to provide financial assistance for New Zealand presenters attending the HOSW Gathering being held from the 3rd to 10th September 2010 in Hawaii.

Applicants who are eligible for this subsidy would have had an abstract accepted for the conference and that their presentation has a Maori and alcohol focus. Applicants are not to be Government or DHB employees and a cap of $1,500 (GST excl) is set as a maximum for each application.

Applications will close on the 31st July 2010 and will be considered by a panel made up of representatives from MoH, ALAC and the International Indigenous Council for HOSW.
