Crown Entities Reform Bill - Select Committee Process (19 October 2011)
The Crown Entities Reform Bill had its first reading on 4 October 2011 and has now been referred to the Government Administration Committee.
The Chair of the Committee is now inviting submissions. These will need to be emailed to the Select Committee office (email address to be advised on the Parliament website).
There is no closing date for submissions currently. The dates that appear on Parliament's website relate to the day that Parliament dissolves before the general election (ie, 20 October 2011). When Parliament reconvenes after the election and Select Committees are formed, new advice will be given and posted on the Parliament's website.

On 11 August 2011 it was announced that from 1 July 2012 a new health promotion agency will take over functions of ALAC, HSC, and relevant functions of the Ministry of Health.
The Crown Entities Reform Bill, which enables these changes (as well as a number of other structural changes to the government sector), was tabled in Parliament on 30 September 2011.
