Customs

As well as collecting and administering the payment of the Alcohol Levy, the New Zealand Customs Service oversees the duty-free alcohol allowance for travellers coming into Aotearoa New Zealand.

In addition Customs is responsible for regulating the provision of ships stores which provide alcohol on-board vessels such as cruisers and ferries.

If you want to find out about the excise duties on alcohol or information about importing or exporting alcohol go to the Customs website.
